Free Classroom Dig Kits

Free Earth Science, for any classroom, permanently.

Twelve online adventures. Seventy-two lessons. Free printables to go with them. And a way to get real dig kits into your room without spending a dollar.

No student logins. No accounts. No trial that expires. Open a link and the class is going.

Where should we send it?

One email a month. One new Earth Science adventure, free, plus the printables that go with it. No course, no upsell sequence, and you can stop any time.

By subscribing you agree to receive our monthly classroom email. Unsubscribe from any email, any time. We do not sell or share your address.

What you get, today

  • Twelve free Earth Science adventures — rocks and minerals, dinosaurs and fossils, volcanoes, earthquakes, weathering and erosion, landforms and mapping, the water cycle, ocean zones, weather and storms, the Sun, Moon and seasons, space, and natural resources
  • Six lessons inside each one, so you can assign the single lesson you are teaching this week instead of the whole unit
  • Built to NGSS, and every adventure names the standards it covers
  • Printables to go with them — worksheets, sorting mats, mazes, sub plans, answer keys included
  • Nothing to install and nothing to set up. This is deliberate: it removes the single biggest barrier to classroom technology

Three ways to get the physical kits free

1 · The one-for-one PTA programme

This is the one that scales. Buy one, we give one to the school. A family buys a kit through your school's link, we ship them their kit — and send an identical one to your school, free.

No selling. No order forms. No money to collect. Nobody carries a box. Your PTA sends one email, and the donated kits arrive together in one batch. Around thirty family orders is a full classroom set.

How the PTA programme works

2 · Refer a teacher

Know someone who'd use this? Send them our way. When a teacher you refer books an in-school experience or orders a classroom kit, you earn a free kit for your own room. No tracking spreadsheet, no codes to remember — introduce us and we'll handle it.

3 · Join the teacher community

Our Facebook group, Free Excavating Adventures & Dig Kits, is where teachers and homeschool families swap classroom transformation ideas, DIY dig setups and in-class field trip plans. Giveaways and free kit opportunities get posted there first.

What's actually in a kit

  • Six Digs — one-inch clamshells, specimen name hidden under a scratch-off, and every one is found empty
  • Six real specimens — actual rocks, minerals and fossils — in a six-compartment tray
  • Six 3D-printed Gemlings in a blind bag
  • Six trading cards, one per Gemling
  • A Realm map, plus dig stick, wet wipe and canvas bag

Students find the specimens, scratch the labels to learn what they're holding, load the Digs, then match each Gemling to its stone. Whatever they can't match, they trade for.

Want a set for the whole class right now? Class Kits are $15 a student, 15-student minimum — and every one sold donates one to a school.
