The Story of Excavating Adventures

The Story of Excavating Adventures

Before everything fell apart, the Professor was the real deal.

A respected researcher.
A scientist obsessed with patterns hidden deep inside rocks, minerals, and fossils.

While others studied the surface of the Earth, the Professor focused on what lay beneath it. Subtle energy shifts. Impossible data readings. Signs that something ancient and intelligent was hidden far below.

That discovery led him to Gemora.

Gemora was a network of underground realms, each protected by curious, intelligent beings known as Gemlings. These Gemlings were bonded to powerful cores called Gemlets, rare objects that stabilized their realms and kept everything in balance. Together, the Gemlings and their Gemlets protected knowledge, discovery, and the natural order of Gemora.

At first, the Professor wanted only to study them.

He documented their patterns.
He recorded their behavior.
He gathered evidence and prepared to share one of the greatest discoveries in scientific history.

But when he presented his findings, the response was devastating.

The scientific community rejected his work.
His data was dismissed.
His theories were mocked.

What he had devoted his life to was labeled impossible.

As rejection piled on, curiosity gave way to frustration. Frustration turned into bitterness. And slowly, the Professor’s focus shifted.

If no one would believe him, he would prove the discovery’s value another way.

The Professor became fixated on the Gemlets themselves.

He knew they were powerful.
He knew they were rare.
And he knew they were worth something.

Unable to access Gemora directly, he created a solution of his own: a tribe of small, relentless mining creatures called the Grumblies.

Built for digging and tunneling, the Grumblies were sent deep into Gemora’s realms with one task: locate the Gemlets and bring them back.

At first, the damage went unnoticed.

Then Gemlets began disappearing.

As Gemlets were removed from their resting places, Gemora fell out of balance. Pathways collapsed. Realms destabilized. Disturbances spread across the underground world. Without their Gemlets, the Gemlings could no longer protect their homes.

In desperation, the Gemlings fled upward and escaped into our world. As they did, the entrances to Gemora sealed shut behind them, trapping the Grumblies below.

The Grumblies didn’t stop.

They dug new tunnels between realms.
They traded stolen Gemlets.
They hoarded power and spread disruption wherever they went.

Gemora fractured. Nothing remained where it belonged.

The Professor disappeared soon after, leaving behind a broken world and unanswered questions.

That’s when Ari Raider stepped in.

Ari was once the Professor’s understudy. He believed in Gemora from the beginning and witnessed the discovery turn into disaster. When the Professor vanished, Ari took responsibility for repairing the damage that had been done.

Through careful study and cooperation with the stranded Gemlings, Ari learned how to detect disturbances: signs that Grumblies were active and Gemlets were being moved.

When a disturbance appears, Ari sends out a dispatch.

That’s where you come in.

Adventurers are paired with a team of Gemlings and sent on missions connected to real world locations linked to Gemora’s realms. Along the way, you must navigate disruptions, avoid Grumbly traps, make choices, and dig for real specimens to recover lost Gemlets.

Not every Gemlet you find will match the Gemling that needs it.
Some have been traded.
Some are hidden in the wrong realms.
Some are fiercely guarded.

But every recovery matters.

Every adventure restores balance.
Every Gemlet brings Gemora closer to healing.
Every choice shapes the story.

Gemora cannot be saved without adventurers.

And the story is still unfolding.
