Why must an adaptation be explained together with its environment?
A feature helps under particular conditions. Thick insulation may help in cold places but be less helpful in a hot environment.
How can migration and reduced winter activity be different responses to limited food?
Migration moves an animal toward resources elsewhere. Reduced activity can lower energy needs while it stays in an area.
