Storm Safety

Lightning is jumping off the walls of Lightning Hall, and the team needs a place to wait it out. Tall and wet are the dangerous places — knowing that is the whole skill.

What you're training for

In Lightning Hall, every few seconds the room goes white. The team gets through for whoever can pick the safe shelter without hesitating. Train here first; prove it in the simulation.

The science

  • In a storm, get inside a building or a hard-topped car — the two safe places.
  • Never shelter under a tall tree — lightning looks for the tallest path to the ground.
  • Get out of water immediately — water carries electricity far and wide.
  • The rule storm chasers say out loud: when thunder roars, go indoors — and stay there until 30 minutes after the last rumble.

Teach it today — no prep

Safe or not? Read scenarios — under the oak tree, in the car, in the pool, in the kitchen, on the soccer field — and students jump left for safe, right for dangerous, then say why in one breath. Finish by having the class chant the rule. This is review that can genuinely matter someday.

Trained and ready? Prove it at Stop 2 — Lightning Hall. Free, no logins, progress saved on the device.
